Introduction

My name is Daniyal Asim, and my fascination with computers began at the age of 4. As a child, I was often found playing computer games, which ignited my curiosity to explore both the hardware and software sides of technology. I’ve always had a natural aptitude for coding and computer science, consistently surprising my teachers, friends, and family with how quickly I grasped complex concepts like programming and mathematics from an early age.

Now I am a Computer Science student at York University, eager to apply what I’ve learned in a real-world work environment. I'm enthusiastic about gaining a deeper understanding of how the industry operates and would love the opportunity to work in a setting that promotes meaningful development and active involvement with its team members.

Childhood - Pakistan

I was born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan, where I spent the first 13 years of my life before moving to Canada. My time in Pakistan played a significant role in shaping who I am, sparking my curiosity about topics like religion, philosophy, and how to make the world a better place. It was also where my academic journey began, with my mother enrolling me in various schools and extracurricular programs. This early focus on education led me to decide that I would pursue a career as a software engineer.
